Clovis Unified’s Measure A is on the ballot this November. Measure A is a facility bond measure that maintains a stable tax rate and would provide for: 
  • Safety, energy efficiency and technology upgrades for ALL schools.
  • Modernization and repairs to aging schools.
  • Completion of our new high school to ease overcrowding.

Parent Committees

Utilization of parent input is offered through a number of forums at our school, including site and community booster organization groups to ensure a diverse representation. These groups allow for on-going dialogue to take place between school staff and parents. These groups include:

School Site Council (SSC): meets quarterly with administrative, teacher, parent and student representatives to review and adopt the school site plan and grant final approval on all categorical funds.
 
What Are the School Site Council (SSC) and School Advisory Council (SAC)?
  • Community group that participates in school-based program coordination
  • Members represent parents, community members, teachers, other school staff and students (in grades 7-12)
Why Is the School Site Council Important?
  • Legally required group by California law
  • Provides school staff members, parents, community members, and students a voice in improving achievement
What Do the School Site Council and School Advisory Councils Do?
  • Recommends the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA)
  • Reviews student academic data
  • Consults with other parent groups about the SPSA
  • Recommends school safety plan
How Do I Become a Member?
  • Attend SSC/SAC meetings regularly, as a member of the public, to decide if you would like to become involved
  • Talk with the Principal about your interest in serving on the SSC/SAC
  • Participate in the annual elections; members are elected by the group they represent
  • No experience is needed; the District provides training to new members annually to learn about your new role

Reagan Educational Center SSC/SAC Meetings will be held on:

 

 

English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC): made up of parents and staff members involved in the bilingual program.  ELAC reviews all programs designed to support English Learners, including ELD, and tutors on a quarterly basis.
 
What Is the English Language Advisory Committee  
  • Community group that participates in reviewing the school’s English Learner program
  • Members represent parents of English Learners, teachers, other school staff

Reagan Educational Center ELAC Meetings days/times:

 

Inter-cultural Diversity and Advisory Council (IDAC):  The primary purpose of IDAC, originally formed in 1988 as the Intercultural Advisory Council, is to assist in the formation and review of policies that assure non-discriminatory practices in all operational areas of the Clovis Unified School District.  Its further mission is to assist in improving the cultural environment of the District. School Assessment Review Team (SART):   This committee meets quarterly to review and discuss a variety of topics at the Reagan Educational Center.  These topics range from student safety, effective practices and protocols, curriculum, policies, etc.  Every March, the Clovis Unified School District conducts an annual survey soliciting opinions on curricular, co-curricular, technology and other issues facing the district.
