We are beyond thrilled to officially let you know that the Clovis East High School 2021 Commencement Ceremony will be held on May 26th, 2021 at 7:30pm at Lamonica Stadium. It has been an unprecedented journey to get to this point, but we cannot wait to celebrate the entire Class of 2021, together, on their originally planned graduation day. 
Parents - you should have received an email with very important info on graduation and senior activities. If you didn't, please get the info here
Graduation Ceremony Info:
Clovis East High School will follow all California Department of Public Health (CDPH) in-person graduation guidelines. 
In order to safely allow for one ceremony, the following restrictions will be in place. 
  • Attendees must be household members of the graduate 
  • To comply with the large gathering capacity regulations, each graduate will receive up to 6 tickets for those in their immediate household who wish to attend
    • If families can show proof that at least two of their household members are fully vaccinated, they will be eligible to receive a total of 8 tickets for household members. Click here to determine if you’re fully vaccinated
    • Each graduate receives 6 or 8 tickets, regardless of split households
    • Tickets will be distributed with Caps/Gowns on May 18th
  • All attendees must wear a mask and maintain social distancing
  • Graduates will be seated socially distanced on the field
  • Members of the graduates’ household groups may be seated together, but must be separated by 6 feet of distancing from other graduates’ household groups
    • ALL seating is first come, first served, and gates open at 6pm
  • The event will be livestreamed for additional family and friends who are unable to attend the ceremony
  • Current self-screening, social distancing and masking requirements will be in place
  • Please stay tuned for specific instructions on entering and exiting the stadium while abiding by health guidance
Ticket Reservations:
You should have received an email from Permission Click [email protected] that will allow you to give us crucial information. 
  • You will need to indicate if your student will be participating in the 2021 graduation ceremony. The decision you select cannot be changed.
This same form will also allow you to reserve your tickets, complete your COVID waiver, and review the graduation ceremony contract. 
  • Please reserve your graduation ceremony tickets by indicating who in your household will be attending, along with proof of vaccination, if applicable. 
Please be sure to review the Graduation Ceremony Contract with your student.

Graduation Practice #1: Thursday, May 20th 8:30am to 11am – East Gym
Graduation Practice #2: Friday, May 21st 
8:30am to 11am – East Gym
Graduation Practice #3: Tuesday, May 25th 8:30am to 11am – CE Track 
  • Graduation practice may run until at least 11am each day; please plan accordingly. 
  • All graduates who plan to participate in the graduation ceremony must attend ALL FOUR PRACTICES
  • All Seniors must have a physical Senior ID card for all senior activities and graduation practices. 
  • CUSD Dress Code will be strictly enforced each day. Students out of dress code will be turned away from practice.
  • All obligations must be cleared to participate in graduation practices. Students should not schedule appointments on these mornings, and you are responsible for notifying employers of the dates and times in advance.
  • Your senior will receive senior breakfast at either grad practice #1 or #2

Graduation Practice #4: Wednesday, May 26th 7:45am to 11am – Lamonica
  • Seniors must have a physical Senior ID Card
  • CUSD Dress Code will be strictly enforced
  • We ask that all students shave on graduation day for practice and for the ceremony to align with Board Policy/Administrative Regulation 2105.  All exceptions must work through Deputy Principal’s office two weeks ahead of time. 
  • All obligations must be cleared to participate in Graduation practice. Students should not schedule appointments on these mornings, and you are responsible for notifying employers of the dates and times in advance. 
  • Final practice will begin at 7:45 am SHARP at Lamonica Stadium. Seniors should report to the field of the stadium, wearing your senior shirt and with your graduation shoes. Additionally, wear sunblock as you will likely be in the direct sun all morning. 
  • Seniors may drive to the stadium. You need to plan on heavy traffic. Parking is limited to the student parking lot. A bus will be available for those students needing a ride. The bus will leave CEHS at 7:30 am sharp by the flagpole on Donner (main office). 
  • Items to be covered at the practice include an overview of the graduation exercise, a message from our Clovis Unified School District superintendent, a run-through of the entire program, and procedures to be followed on graduation night. 
  • Practice will last until mastery is achieved. 
  • Seniors will be excused after the practice. Students who rode the bus will be returned by bus to Clovis East.

Graduation Dress Code (For the Graduation Ceremony AND the Annual Parade of Graduates):
  1. All students will be checked by administrators and faculty for proper attire and grooming. Those students in violation will not participate in the graduation ceremony.
  2. Students must wear semi-formal or formal attire. This includes suit and tie, slacks with collared shirt and tie, dresses, dress pants or skirts with blouse, etc. NO DENIM and NO SHORTS are allowed.
  3. All dresses must have at least two-inch shoulder straps. Long dresses are permitted but must be pinned so they do not fall below the hem line of the graduation gown. Undergarments are not allowed to be shown.
  4. Students must wear dress shoes: no athletic shoes, slides, Birkenstocks, flip-flop style sandals, or combat boots will be permitted.
  5. Students must wear the white collars given to them with their cap and gown, unless a collared shirt and tie are already being worn.
  6. We ask that all students shave on graduation day for practice and for the ceremony to align with Board Policy/Administrative Regulation 2105.  All exceptions must work through Deputy Principal’s office two weeks ahead of time.
  7. Caps will be worn flat on the head with the point aimed straight ahead.
  8. Tassels will be worn on the right side of the cap. Bling tassels are allowed.
