Clovis FFA Wins Big at California FFA State Finals

The Clovis FFA is proud to announce that our students were once again very successful at the California FFA State Finals for Career Development Events in San Luis Obispo this last weekend. Our Veterinary Science Team coached by Mrs. Jennifer Knight were named State Champions after their undefeated season with 7 first place finishes. Jordan Demanty (Clovis North) was 1st place, Shauntel Statt (Clovis East) was 3rd place, and Kylie Raymond (Clovis High) was 4th place individually. This team will be representing California FFA at the National competition in October. The Nursery Landscape team coached by Mrs. Aireal Covey placed 4th high team in the state and Jonathan Woodard (Clovis East) was 9th place and Morgan Henson (Clovis East) was 10th place individually. Our Agricultural Mechanics Team coached by Mr. Steve Gambril placed 7th high team in the State and were 2nd place in welding. Our Livestock Evaluation team coached by Mr. David Valdez placed 12th in the State and David Valdez Jr. (Clovis East) placed 9th high individual. Our Meat Evaluation Team coached by Mr. Ken Dias placed 3rd in identification and 3rd in the general knowledge test.
